The endless summer

Some may say they haven't spotted me around much in the libraries recently. I admit, I haven't gone short of holidays this year, but hey - it's a bug's life.

Here I am in France - sampling some of the (ahem) local delicacies. Apologies for the fuzziness - my "friend" had a little too much of a good thing if you know what I mean!

From France I travelled by train to Cologne. Here I am on the tower of Cologne Dom cathedral! Don't look down!!

I love a good holiday...

I spent some time on a cruise recently - life on the ocean wave you could say! Some of the sightseeing was a little alarming ...but the ship itself was lovely and I couldn't wait to get back to my favourite lounger with a good book!

Bonny Scotland

I spent a rather pleasant weekend visiting some Celtic cousins recently.

Here I am atop the famous Arthur's Seat overlooking Edinburgh.

Cotswold Wildlife Park

I had a fabulous time on my recent visit to the Cotswold Library Park! I love animals, my library has all sorts of books about them, for grown ups and children. My favourite animal is the badger - sadly no badgers at the park, but here are some of the other animals I encountered.

Townhill Library Fun Day

I was very lucky to be invited to celebrate a Fun Day at the fabulous Phoenix Centre in Townhill, which houses the even more fabulous Townhill library.

I tell you what, they know how to show a bug a good time!

The summer season

I've had a very lazy summer this year. While my friends in Central Library were entertaining over 3000 guests at children's library events I've been off relaxing in Rhodes, Paris, Cologne, Longleat Center Parcs and a very interesting tattoo convention in LLandudno.

More photos to follow, but here I am taking in the view from my balcony in Rhodes.

Cardigan

I visited West Wales on the weekend, and very nice it was too. I went to see a waterfall

and of course I made sure to visit a local library! Unfortunately, as it was Sunday afternoon, the library was closed. so I couldn't meet any new friends.

My favourite things...

It has to be said that most of my favourite things in libraries can be found in the children's areas. All sorts of fun goes on in there, especially over the holidays.

In Central library, I'm really looking forward to the Pirates and Mermaids party on 17th August. I love fancy dress and have my own eye patch!

I get a bit lonely on Mondays when my library is closed, so yesterday I took some photos to show you the lovely children's area in Central library.

Here's the reading tower - you can climb in and read books or play with the magnetic story tiles.

You can listen to stories at the listening post....

Or hide in the reading hideaway - can you spot me?

Keep on running

Here I am at the 10k run. Can I just say, the tiger only beat me because I was entertaining the crowd. They love me out there.

Home Sweet Home

I live in Swansea, UK, the city with the best libraries in the world. I can usually be found hanging out in the fantastic Central library, where the friendly staff take care of me. Here I am with my friend Phil.

The library is very comfortable and there is always something new to read.

My library even has self service, so I can take out my own book and then settle down to read for the afternoon.

I love my library.

The Beginning

Welcome to my blog, snapshots of my travels here and there, spreading my message to everyone I meet.
