It's Oscar Night

In celebration of the 81st Academy Awards, some of my friedns at Swansea Central Library donned "Hollywood Glamour" outfits to promote the DVD rental service.

They kindly allowed me in the photo although my outfit will remain under wraps until the red carpet...

The most wonderful time of the year

Well Christmas came and went - it seems such a long time ago now! I hope your festive season was filled with goodwill and warm spirit.

I was proud to welcome a very special visitor to my library just before Christmas as Santa set up his workshop right here in the library discovery room! Here are the pictures to prove it!!

Reggio Emilia

I travelled to Italy just before Christmas to the delighful region of Reggio Emilia. Reggio is renowned for the child centred "Reggio Emilia approach", which puts the natural development of children at the heart of the community and is an educational approach adopted widely worldwide.

I was there to tour some libraries and meet up with early years leaders and also to spread the word about Swansea Libraries and Bookstart with my good friend and travelling companion, Audrey.

The endless summer

Some may say they haven't spotted me around much in the libraries recently. I admit, I haven't gone short of holidays this year, but hey - it's a bug's life.

Here I am in France - sampling some of the (ahem) local delicacies. Apologies for the fuzziness - my "friend" had a little too much of a good thing if you know what I mean!

From France I travelled by train to Cologne. Here I am on the tower of Cologne Dom cathedral! Don't look down!!

I love a good holiday...

I spent some time on a cruise recently - life on the ocean wave you could say! Some of the sightseeing was a little alarming ...but the ship itself was lovely and I couldn't wait to get back to my favourite lounger with a good book!

Bonny Scotland

I spent a rather pleasant weekend visiting some Celtic cousins recently.

Here I am atop the famous Arthur's Seat overlooking Edinburgh.
